Emily Christine Long



Emily Christine Long was born on April 12, 1994 and is the daughter of Greg and Shelly Long. She has one sister, Jessica Long. 
Her awards and achievements include attaining the B Honor Roll (4), an Honorable Mention for All-Conference Volleyball (2), Second Team All-Conference Volleyball, Academic All-Team Volleyball (3), Academic All-Team Basketball (3), First Team All-Conference for basketball, and an Honorable Mention for basketball. 
Emily’s favorite activities are basketball and hanging out with friends. 
Her extracurricular activities include basketball (4), volleyball (4), Speech & Drama (4), track (3), FFA (3) and Colorguard (2).
Emily’s best memories while attending MHS include playing sports and spending all of her time with her teammates and coaches. 
Her most embarrassing moment during high school was running into a wall at a lock-in and getting a concussion.
Her biggest inspiration is her dad because he has always been there through everything.
Emily’s gift to underclassmen goes to Joe Karns, “Stay fly. What’s up, dog?”
Her favorite quote is, “Be a light for someone in a dark place.”
Emily’s plans for the future include going to Mt. Mercy in Cedar Rapids for Nursing and to play basketball.
Emily is excited for graduation, but at the same time she isn’t because she is ready for a change, but it will be hard to leave her friends and family.
