Courtney Anne Latcham

Courtney Anne Latcham was born February 23, 1993 and is the daughter of Craig and Kay Latcham. She has two brothers, Corey and Chad.
Her awards and achievements from State FFA include 2nd place Conduct of Meetings, 3rd place Soils, 1st place Ag communications and 1st place Business Management. From National FFA they include 4th place Business Management and 3rd place Ag Communications.
Other awards and achievements include honorable mention for basketball and volleyball, 2nd team all conference for volleyball, A-honor roll for four years and honorable mention for Speech and Drama.
Courtney’s favorite things to do is to be with friends and shop. Her extracurricular activities include volleyball (4), basketball (4), FFA (4), Speech and Drama (4), Student Council (4), Colorguard (4), National Honor Society (3) and track (2).
Her best memories while attending MHS have been going to Pagliai’s with the girls, having sleep overs and staying up until the morning hours talking.
Her most embarrassing moment was during a ski trip at Fun Valley when she was behind Teona and Shannon on the ski lift. They were talking to her so she forgot to get off the ski lift. They had to stop the lift and help her down while everyone else was laughing.
Her favorite TV shows are Keeping Up with the Kardashians and America’s Funniest Home Videos. Her favorite saying is “You have brains in your head. You have feet in your shoes. You can steer yourself in any direction you choose.” –Dr. Seuss
Courtney’s biggest inspiration is her mom because she taught her everything she knows and always told her to be the best person she could be.
Her gifts to underclassmen are to Alexis Ferguson- “Stay shining, Skunky! Keep following your dreams,” and to Kale, Chloe and Kaya Latcham- “Be all you can be, never give up and enjoy the ride along the way.”
Her goals for the future are to finish school, start her own salon and eventually manage other well-known salons.
Her plans for college are to start in June at Capri College in Cedar Rapids, get her cosmetology and makeup artistry licenses, then go to University of Iowa to get her bachelor's degree in business.
Courtney is excited to graduate and be on her own and be independent. She will, however, miss her family and friends.
Her advice before graduating is “Never settle. Do what you love. No matter what others may say or think, follow your heart and make yourself happy.”
In ten years, Courtney sees herself married with a few children and managing a salon out on the west coast.
