Olivia Eileen Tribby was born on October 20, 1992 and is the daughter of Yvonne Tribby and Kevin Tribby. She has three siblings, Jacob Malaney, Nichole De Fransisco and Andraya Tribby.
Her awards and achievements throughout high school include the B Honor Roll, Honorable Mention for volleyball, Prom queen, MVP for JV volleyball, Best Defensive Player for varsity volleyball, I ratings at district and state for Speech & Drama, Shining Star award for the play and played in the semi-final match in volleyball. She has been involved in softball (2), volleyball (4), Speech & Drama (4) and Individual Speech (1).
Her favorite things to do are to play volleyball with her Bravettes and to scare people. Her best memory is when she aced the last serve against North Mahaska for the first round of districts.
Her most embarrassing moment was when she was working late in the ICN room at the school one night with KT. They were dancing on the tables and the janitors were watching the whole time.
Her favorite TV show is Family Guy and her favorite song is “Name” by the Goo Goo Dolls. Her favorite saying is, “Everything happens for a reason.”
Olivia’s biggest inspirations are anybody who can withstand her. Her gifts to underclassmen are to Alexis Ferguson – “Hold on to the person you are. I’m going to miss you!” Mariah Hirsch – “Let’s play barbies!”and Emily Long – "Thank you for keeping me sane during volleyball."
Her advice before graduating is, “Don’t be afraid to lose yourself; sometimes it’s the only way to find yourself.”
Olivia is excited to graduate, because she’s ready to live her own life and meet new people, but is also afraid of change and will miss the people she grew up with.
Her goals in the future are to make someone smile every day and make a difference in somebody else’s life. She plans to attend UNI and major in social work. In ten years, Olivia sees herself helping others who are in need.
